We didn't really focus on them at all as we focused on Danish and American but here are some Dutch traditions we were aware of. • When engaged, Protestant people will wear the engagement ring on the left hand and wear the wedding band on the right hand. Vice versa for Catholics. • If the bridal couple wishes to marry in church, they first have to marry at city hall since the church ceremony is only a blessing service. • When leaving church or city hall, guests will throw rice (represents fertility). • The Master of Ceremony (MoC) is the manager of the day and will make sure that everything runs smoothly to ensure the couple have an enjoyable time. • There will be at least three speeches during dinner. First the father of the bride will speak, followed by the groom and the MoC. • Guests might perform a song, dance, play, poem or speech during the reception, dinner or party. • The bride and groom open the party with the first dance. • The bride offers bridal sugars (sugared almonds) to her guests when they leave the wedding celebration. • Traditionally female guests will not wear white or black to a wedding, however, it is more common nowadays to wear black. Nav. likes Holland and takes us there some how in a direct way not following the English cars on their way to Germany. See you tomorrow.
