As requested, here are some Dutch traditions. We didn't really focus on them at all as we focused on Danish and American but here are some Dutch traditions we were aware of.

•	When engaged, Protestant people will wear the engagement ring on the left hand and wear the wedding band on the right hand. Vice versa for Catholics.
•	If the bridal couple wishes to marry in church, they first have to marry at city hall since the church ceremony is only a blessing service.
•	When leaving church or city hall, guests will throw rice (represents fertility).
•	The Master of Ceremony (MoC) is the manager of the day and will make sure that everything runs smoothly to ensure the couple have an enjoyable time.
•	There will be at least three speeches during dinner. First the father of the bride will speak, followed by the groom and the MoC.
•	Guests might perform a song, dance, play, poem or speech during the reception, dinner or party.
•	The bride and groom open the party with the first dance.
•	The bride offers bridal sugars (sugared almonds) to her guests when they leave the wedding celebration.
•	Traditionally female guests will not wear white or black to a wedding, however, it is more common nowadays to wear black.

Petra,
I just talked to your dad and he told me about your wonderful day!! Kate and I want to wish you and Keld all the luck in the world and the most happiness ever.
The pictures are great. Everyoned looks so beautiful and handsome, especially you and Keld (your Dad really looked good in his uniform). I watched the video too.
Well, just wanted to say a work of congratulations--
All the best,
Dave and Kate
PS: I am so pleased that your Dad got through his recent medical problems in good shape!

Hi Petra and Keld,
Just looked at your website, and I'm so excited about your forthcoming wedding. Keld, it was has been good to meet you in church, and I noted the pictures of your parents on the website. Both of you are blessed with wonderful families.
My prayers and those of others at Christ the King Lutheran Church will be with you in the fortcoming weeks, and especially on July 1. Thanks to pictures on your website, I can almost picture the locations of your wedding.
I have that date marked on my calendar to uplift you in prayer.
May God continue to bless you!
